The Mayor of Hoboken Peter Cammarano was being invested during a search of an international FBI and he was totally unaware of this investigation.Last night his 32nd birthday was celebrated . Cammarano was still in the delighted mood, said by the close source of the Mayor. Even he greeted the residents of Hoboken at St. Ann’s Festival and also bartended in the opening night and poured the beer happily.
A message has been posted by Peter Cammarano to his friends on Twitter and thanked them to wish him on his birthday. FBI officials arrested the mayor this morning at his home which is situated at 11th and Bloomfield and his wife and his daughter were shocking watching his arrest scene. It is not more than a month when Peter was elected as the mayor of Hoboken. He had got a victory over Dawn Zimmer with a narrow margin in an excited extra election.
A statement has been released in Newark by the office of U.S. Attorney and according to that statement; Peter Cammarano has been arrested during a public corruption search of international FBI. Mayor of Secaucus Dennis Elwell, Danial Van Pelt a state Assemblyman, Jersey City’s deputy mayor Leona Beldini were also arrested during this search.
It was further said in this statement that these arrests are the part of investigations against money laundering made by FBI International. These arrested people were likely to be prosecuted in the court on Thursday afternoon. A press conference was also scheduled by the office of U.S Attorney this noon in Newark.
